Australian Raven (Corvus coronoides)

Widespread in southern Australia, the Australian Raven is the common crow in the cities of Perth, Canberra and Sydney, where it can be found in city parks etc. Distinguished by its size, heavy beak, large throat hackles, also its call – compare with Little Raven, with which in SE Australia it can sometimes be seen. A known nest robber, small birds like the fearless Willee Wagtail will mob it – as seen here.
