Australian Ringneck (Barnardius zonarius)

The Australian Ringneck is a parrot found in much of Australia, but not in most of the north and along or close to the east and southeast coast. Not present in Tasmania. There are several distinctive sub-species.

Mallee Ringeck – the main form of this species in the eastern half of its range (from eastern SA, NW Vic, inland NSW and western Qld.).

Port Lincoln Parrot – main form in central and western Australia
