Crescent Honeyeater (Phylidonyris pyrrhopterus)

The Cresent Honeyeater is found in Tasmania and the far south east of Australia. It is found in forests and heathland. Often hard to see its presence is usually detected by its loud ‘E-Chit’ call which is heard in this film. Birds here were filmed in the botanic gardens in Canberra where they are winter visitors attracted by the abundant flowering banksias and grevillias at this time.
