Crimson Chat (Epthianura tricolor)

The Crimson Chat is a small (10-12cm) ground-living honeyeater that is widespread in the arid and semi-arid interior of Australia. It lives in small, very wary active flocks that search quickly and sometimes hop up for small insects and the like among the low vegetation in which they live. It is nomadic and moves about in response to food availability, so appearance in a given place is unpredictable.
