Jacky winter (Microeca fascinans)

The Jacky winter is an Australasian ‘robin’ found in most of Australia except the most arid parts. In southern areas like Canberra, where these birds were filmed, it is more often present in the warmer months. Like its relatives, it typically hunts on the ground from an elevated perch. It is a bird of open woodland. Closely related to the Lemon-bellied Flycatcher of northern Australia
