Lewin’s honeyeater (Meliphaga lewinii)

The Lewin’s honeyeater is found in forests (esp. wet forest and rainforest) along the coast and adjacent ranges of Eastern Australia from southeastern Victoria to the wet tropics of North Queensland. Often hard to get a clear view of this bird due to its liking for thick bushes, it is better known for its ‘machine-gun’ like rattle call – heard here at about 10 secs from the start of the film. Closely related to the Yellow Spotted Honeyeater of north Queensland.
