New England Forest Raven (Corvus tasmanicus boreus)

The New England Forest Raven, also known as the Relict Raven is the isolated northern subspecies of the Forest Raven, it is isolated in a small area of northeast NSW. The other subspecies, the southern Forest raven Corvus tasmanicus tasmanicus is found in Tasmania (where it is the only crow) and nearby parts of far south of Victoria.
The deep call of this crow is distinctive, along with it short tail, heavy beak and short but visible throat hackles.
