Pied Currawong (Strepera graculina)

The Pied Currawong is a large crow-like bird common in eastern Australia. however the film records its distinctive call. It is an omnivore, feeding on fruit, worms, insects etc. and is a well known predator of eggs and nestlings of smaller birds. In Canberra, formerly a winter visitor, now present all year round and often abundant. In southeastern Australia it overlaps with the closely related Grey Currawong.
