Shining Bronze Cuckoo (Chalcites lucidus)

The Shining bronze cuckoo is widespread in Australia but avoids the arid centre. So called due to its vivid iridescent green plumage. In southern Australia, such as Canberra, where these birds were filmed, this species is migratory and avoids the colder months.  In southern Australia it is often found with the Horsfield’s Bronze Cuckoo.
