Marsh Sandpiper (Tringa stagnatilis)

The Marsh Sandpiper is a non-breeding summer visitor to Australia from northern Eurasia. This species breeds from northeastern Europe across to central Siberia and overwinters from its breeding grounds in Africa, south Asia and in Australia. A delicately built wader with a long very fine bill. Can be seen here with the larger and closely related Common Greenshank,  also the smaller Sharp-tailed Sandpiper and Red-necked Stint.
