With its upturned bill and yellow legs this Terek Sandpiper cuts a distinctive appearance amongst like sized waders. Filmed at the western treatment works near Melbourne, Australia it can be seen here with Curlew Sandpiper (bird to immediate left) Red-necked Stint (small birds in front) and a larger Red Knot (behind). Terek Sandpipers breed in North east Europe and northern Asia and overwinter in the southern hemisphere from Africa to Australia.
